World Thalassemia Day May 8, 2016

The National Association of Hematological Hematology celebrated the World Thalassemia Day, which falls on May 8 with several activities
1. The Genetic Hematology Society organized a recreational trip to Majik Island at Seef Complex and Al-Seef Cinema for Thalassemia patients. The event was attended by more than 90 patients and a similar number of their families. The children of Thalassemia and their families enjoyed the event. Mehdi and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Assembly as participants expressed joy and praised the need to carry out recreational activities for patients to keep them away from the atmosphere of genetic disease, which required them since childhood, but did not affect their morale and increased determination and adherence to life and gave them a greater motivation to keep up with and face burdens Aldn A.
2. The Society also held a celebration in the Salmaniya Medical Complex in the blood transfusion unit under a family atmosphere. The thalassemia patients and the medical staff present in the unit represent one family. Dr. Najat Mehdi presented an awareness lecture on this occasion. The lecture was followed by a celebration and an exchange of gifts on this occasion.
The Society thanks Novartis for its continuous support to the activities of the Thalassemia Patients Committee and Seef Properties for its continued support of the patients’ recreational activities. We also thank the Bahrain Cinema Company for hosting the patients in the film “The Book of the Jungle” and we thank the young people for participating in organizing and making the event a success. The activities of the society and drawing the smile on the faces of patients and support the youth of the mobile and encourage them to continue the work of volunteer excellence.
